The following is why September is such an amazing month to get married in Washington! Its not too hot, its still sunny - and so many gorgeous flowers are availible as the temperatures start to cool. Ashley and Clinton got married at a private family residence, with all their friends and family. They wanted something casual, romantic, soft- in desert colors to match the surroundings. These two are were so wonderful and sweet to work with- and the amazingly talented Kristen Marie Parker captured it all while doing double duty as a bridesmaid!
Its almost been 6 months, but this wedding feels like it was yesterday. These warm, sunny, emotional pictures are exactly what I need in the middle of winter.
Featured flowers used: Cafe Au Lait Dahlias, garden roses, white Scabiosa, Eucalyptus, Native snowberries, Veronica, Protea, Smilax
All photos by Kristen Marie Parker.
Kathryn and Rollin were my very last wedding of this year, and celebrated their intimate, art-deco themed wedding at the Arctic Club Hotel Ballroom. Their florals were a wide mix of foraged and locally grown greens, and pure white flowers. Since the weather had just started to turn, there was plenty of beautiful olive-green colored beech incorporated into the table arrangements. For the ceremony, Kathryn wanted a clean, fresh, art-deco bouquet with a slight cascade to match her bright white, gorgeous beaded gown. For the reception, tall fluted gold vases were packed full of eucalyptus and feathery pampas grass, mixed with low compote table arrangements.
I can't thank Kathryn and Rollin enough for letting me be a part of their day, and for graciously asking me to witness and celebrate their marriage with them. Maybe the most humble and sweet family I've had the pleasure of working with, yet. I couldn't be happier for the bride and groom, and wish them the best of luck on their new journey together!
Katelin is an old friend and co-worker of mine, and it was so much fun to be able to do the flowers for her wedding day. I had never met Ken before, but him- all of his groomsmen and family were so sweet and welcoming the moment I met them.
They chose to get married at the end of August, at the beautiful Cedarbrook Lodge, out in the green courtyard. They wanted the colors to be dusty mauve, pale greens, and other white to cream tones- all soft pastels to contrast with the mens formal black suits. It was an awesome combination and everyone looked gorgeous! Katelin is such an amazing natural beauty, and has such a warm smile- I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her walking down the aisle as we packed up, and it brought tears to my eyes seeing how happy she was. Lots of love to this couple.
I had the pleasure of working with Brittney as a super talented photographer- before I found out that she was already engaged! Her and Blaze were having a quiet and beautiful elopement on Crystal Mountain, before returning back for a celebration with family and friends. I couldn't have been more excited to make her bridal bouquet for her - She wanted something casual, fresh, beautiful- to match the feeling of their ceremony. AND YELLOWS AND PEACH! Sign me up! I used a lot of garden roses and peach scabiosa straight from the garden, feathery spirea, and raspberry foliage.
Mutual friend Alyssa Wilcox shot these outrageous photos, and my jaw dropped when I saw them. Thankful to have been a small part of their intimate and magical ceremony up in the clouds.
